The brilliant Adèle Exarchopoulos (Blue Is the Warmest Colour) carries a sparkling, fantasy-colored drama about aromatic mysteries, fire, and love that crosses boundaries.

In a narrow-minded small society in the French Alps, the swimming teacher Joanne (Exarchopoulos) lives together with her husband Jimmy (Moustapha Mbengue) and their daughter Vicky (Sally Dramé). Vicky is a solitary and somewhat offbeat girl, who aside from her crazy love for her mother, mostly spends her time with her superpower: her incredible sense of smell and ability to recreate them. When Jimmy’s sister Julia (Swala Emati) suddenly shows up, her scent awakens painful memories from the past, which start a chain of events that come to inflame passions and shake up both the family and the whole village. Léa Mysius, in scriptwriting cooperation with Claire Denis and Jacques Audiard in tow, follows up the acclaimed directorial debut Ava with a fast-paced genre mix with extra everything.

The screening on February 3 is included in In the Mood for Love at Bar Kino. Niki Yrla and Freja Holmberg, behind the podcast “Heteroakuten” will answer heterosexual questions from a lesbian perspective. Start: 6:00 pm.
