Scream of My Blood: A Gogol Bordello Story
Buy ticketsIt's hard to sit still when Eugene Hütz and the other migrant punks in Gogol Bordello play at full volume. And they always do.
Eugene Hütz brought with him a musical heritage from his Ukrainian-Romani background when he and his family arrived in New York following the Chernobyl disaster. In Gogol Bordello, he met musicians from other parts of the world, and the international influences were seasoned with a hefty dose of punk in a soup kitchen on the Lower East Side. This is a manic music documentary that mixes fantastic concert footage with interviews with current and former band members – not many can keep up with Eugene Hütz's pace. At the end of the film, Russia has invaded Ukraine, and Gogol Bordello visits refugee camps and performs for the combatants.
