Buy ticketsPenélope Cruz, Antonio Banderas, and Oscar Martínez offer a big show in a razor-sharp comedy about an ambitious film production that completely goes off the rails.
The Festival favorite duo Cohn and Duprat (The Distinguished Citizen, GFF 2017; My Masterpiece, GFF 2019) are back with an enhanced satire about bloated egos. An aging business mogul wants to be remembered for something other than his pharmaceutical empire and acquires a Nobel Prize winner’s novel and hands the task of adapting it to film to the, simply put, eccentric Lola Cuevas (Cruz). She in turns casts the stage theater legend Iván Torres (Martínez) and the movie star Félix Rivero (Banderas) for the leading roles, and together they start a film project that capsizes already before filming begins. Cruz, Banderas, and Martínez offer a Spanish-speaking acting blowout of the highest class as the manipulative director plays both self-centered alpha males against each other.
