Il Pataffio
Buy ticketsTwisted Monty Pythonesque medieval tale of freedom, hunger, sex, and power, where an unlikely retinue of incompetent knights must take possession of their new castle.
Paying homage to a kind of film that is no longer made, Francesco Lagi delivers an equally odd as refreshing spectacle about Marconte Berlocchio, his new bride Bernarda, and their dreary entourage of knights and courtiers who are about to take possession of their new duchy. But first they have to find their way there, and their orientation skills prove to be lacking, to say the least. When they at last arrive, it turns out that the castle is in a dreadful state – and that the inhabitants of the surrounding village are extremely unwilling to let themselves be ruled by their new master. With its stubbornness, rich gallery of characters, and its wild mix of high and low, Il Pataffio offers a different and very funny film experience.
