Gritty, fast-paced, and hilarious Cannes crowd-pleaser about a wild young man forced to become the family breadwinner—and who tries to make award-winning cheese to save the household finances.

The rural region of Jura in southeastern France is renowned for its dairy cows, agricultural fairs, and exquisite comté cheese. This is where Totone spends his youth, mostly partying with friends, chasing girls, and having a good time. But when his father suffers an accident, Totone is suddenly forced to step up, care for his younger sister, and manage their crumbling farm. It’s clear from the start that the road ahead won’t be easy. But if he can just produce the region’s best cheese, he could win 30,000 euros. The only problem? He doesn’t have the slightest clue how to make cheese. Holy Cow is a delightfully rustic coming-of-age story with a big heart, plenty of grit, and outstanding performances from its young amateur cast.
