Tender mother and son comedy about an author on the verge of a breakthrough who ends up caring for four older women when his friends head off to Pride.

Edward is a promising writer struggling to balance his career while caring for his aging mother. When his three friends take a spontaneous trip to Pride, they leave their own mothers in his care. Suddenly, Edward finds himself managing a group of eccentric older ladies, while his dream of a book tour in the U.S. drifts further out of reach. Darren Thornton (A Date for Mad Mary, GFF 2016) portrays the bond between mother and son with warmth and humor. The chemistry between Fionnula Flanagan as the mute mother and James McArdle as the kind-hearted son is one of the festival’s most touching depictions of friendship.
