Copenhagen Does Not Exist
Buy ticketsA woman is missing in super-stylish thriller where a father takes his daughter’s boyfriend to an empty apartment and starts a peculiar interrogation.
Before she disappeared, Ida and Sander were a young, beautiful, and loving couple who didn’t need anyone else. Based on Oscar-nominated screenwriter Eskil Vogt’s (The World’s Worst Man) fascinating script about love and isolation, Martin Skovbjerg (Sticks and Stones) confidently sculpts an evocative and thought-provoking film instilled with both Hitchcock and Polanski. At its core is the interrogation situation in the unfurnished apartment, where the conversation between Sander and Ida’s father often takes on a therapeutic character. In the cast, Zlatko Buric (who was recently awarded Best European Actor for his oligarch in Triangle of Sadness) is joined by Jonas Holst Schmidt and Angela Bundalovic.
* The screening of February 4 will be followed by an Actors Talk, a longer discussion with Zlatko Buric.
