Oscar-winner Casey Affleck directs and plays the leading role in a post-apocalyptic father-and-daughter drama that won’t leave a dry eye in its wake.

“Dad” and Rag travel through a dystopian, American landscape, constantly on the run. Rag is approaching puberty and it quickly becomes impossible to hide that she is a woman – and a hotly desired prey in a world that consists almost exclusively of men, since an epidemic broke out and killed off most of the female population. Dad does everything he can to protect and teach his daughter about life – though a bit awkwardly about womanhood – but a day will soon come when she has to stand on her own. Affleck and the young Anna Pniowsky are on the screen together essentially through the whole film in this tender, well-acted, and constantly exciting road movie about love and trust. And parenthood, raised to the skies.
