Burning Days
Buy ticketsEngaging political thriller in which a young prosecutor digs deeper and deeper into the corrupt system characterizing the small Turkish town where he is stationed.
Emre is a prosecutor and is about to start his new position in Yaniklar, a lawless city plagued by corruption and homophobia. Those in power do everything to keep it and want to avoid new eyes on them as well as additional problems, especially when discontent increases as a result of the escalating water shortage. This all quickly becomes part of Emre’s daily life and he is forced to use all his strengthto meet the looming pressure while upholding his belief in the justice of the legal system he serves. Emin Alper, who we last saw in Göteborg with Frenzy (GFF 2016), is back with what can best be described as a political Wild West thriller and a contemporary story from Erdogan’s Turkey.
