A dazzling Mark Ruffalo is the whistleblower who reveals the dark secret in Todd Hayne’s fight-the-power thriller with Erin Brockovich vibes.

Filmmaker Todd Haynes has an eye for injustice. After the more artistic Carol and I’m Not There, he shows up right on the ball with the story based on true events about Robert Bilott (Mark Ruffalo). The patient environmental attorney gets a visit from two farmers who claim that Dupont, one of the world’s largest companies, is dumping waste in the area. Robert begins investigating the matter and discovers a number of unexplainable deaths. While trying to reveal the truth, his family, his health, and his future are put at risk. Ruffalo gives us one of the best roles of his career in this intensively and carefully executed nail-biter with Anne Hathaway, Bill Pullman and Tim Robbins in supporting roles.
