The Criminal Man

A man becomes witness to a murder, but instead of reporting it to the police, he starts to hang around at the crime scene. Why would he want to get seen and convicted for the crime?

We see a man witnessing a murder at a distance. He lives together with his sister and her daugter. He starts to call the police, but hangs up. On the TV news, we learn that the executed man is a famous Georgian football goalkeeper. The man acquires a gun and starts to regularly visit the scene. As if he wants to get discovered and accused of the murder. His staying in the neighbourhood brings him into contact with the locals, many of them Romani. A multi-layered film with lovely cinematography, reminiscent of Nuri Bilge Ceylan’s Once Upon a Time in Anatolia.
