Actor's Talk: Denis Lavant

Actor's Talk: Denis Lavant

Denis Lavant is one of France’s most original and magnetic actors. With his physical performance style and intense screen presence, he has created many unforgettable roles—not least as the Foreign Legion officer Galoup in Claire Denis’s masterpiece Beau Travail. Through his long-standing collaboration with French director Leos Carax, he has been acclaimed for performances in cult classics such as The Lovers on the Bridge and the surreal Holy Motors, where, in the role of Monsieur Oscar, he unleashes his full range of poetry, madness and vulnerability while portraying a multitude of characters within a single film.
