Without Air
Buy ticketsA Leonardo DiCaprio film turns life into hell for a literature teacher in this Kafkaesque and highly engaging contemporary portrayal of an authoritarian state.
High school teacher Ana is troubled by a demanding long-distance relationship and an aging, ill mother, but it's a fateful poetry lesson about Arthur Rimbaud that takes her problems to new heights. After Ana recommends her students to watch Total Eclipse, the film in which a young Leonardo DiCaprio portrays Rimbaud as the poet embarks on a romance with another man, a parent reports Ana for inappropriate teaching, and she is suspended by the opportunistic principal. However, Ana refuses to give up without an appeal. Without Air is an equally courageous and intriguing contemporary portrayal of an authoritarian state by debut director Katalin Moldovai.
