Weightless
Buy ticketsA singular summer in a young girl’s life is depicted with tenderness and acute sensitivity in this Danish debut, featuring one of the most remarkable performances of the year.
Fifteen-year-old Lea spends the summer at a health camp nestled between forest and sea. Quiet yet curious, she soon finds her place within the group and yearns to be like her roommate Sasha - fun-loving, outgoing and unafraid to take up space. When Lea develops feelings for the older camp counsellor Rune, and he appears to reciprocate them, a new and unfamiliar longing stirs within her. Gently told, this coming-of-age tale charts the emotional terrain of adolescence, navigating friendship, love, desire and a young woman’s relationship with her own body. Marie Helweg Augustsen brings Lea to life with rare presence and authenticity.
