A former soldier desperately tries to bring his son home from war-torn Syria in Charlotte Sieling's powerful drama about forgiveness, helplessness, and the boundless love for a child.

When seventeen-year-old Adam leaves his home in Denmark to join IS, his father Christian (Nikolaj Lie Kaas) follows in an attempt to persuade him to return. Christian, a former soldier with experience in the Middle East, is smuggled into Syria disguised as a jihadist, joining militant groups in the ongoing civil war. As he ventures deeper into the caliphate, Christian realizes he must be willing to sacrifice everything he believes in to bring his son back. Masterfully crafted by Charlotte Sieling (in collaboration with journalist Nagieb Khaja), this is a self-reflective and atmospheric tragedy where the love between father and son is tested to its limits.
