A psychological, fact-based drama about a culture of silence, power struggles, and a mother’s fight to keep her family together in a corrupt Albanian town.

Aida is an urban planner in a small town by Lake Ohrid. Her career rests on dubious foundations, and together with her husband, the mayor, she runs corrupt campaigns. But their fragile world begins to crumble when their son Mark is accused of assaulting his classmate Bora. In denial, Aida shifts blame to the mayor’s son, but the truth reveals that both boys share responsibility—just like the adults. Waterdrop, Albania’s official Oscar submission, is a powerful psychological drama about silence, power, and motherhood, offering a searing portrayal of a society riddled with oppression and betrayal, where the line between justice and complicity blurs.
