Then, the Fog
Buy ticketsA beautifully serene meditation on one man’s touching attempt to reconcile with his past – and a poignant Argentine pastoral about a country forever changed.
César has worked as a night watchman at a chemical plant for over twenty years. One day, he receives a letter from his sister informing him that she has sold the family’s small plot of land in the mountains. The news compels him to set out on a journey back to his childhood landscapes to retrieve the urn containing his daughter’s ashes, buried beneath a tree there.
As he travels through a land scarred by environmental destruction and privatization, César is forced to confront a grief he has buried for years. Martín Sappia’s directorial debut is a confident and profoundly sensitive character study, as well as a breathtakingly beautiful reflection on humanity’s bond with nature.
