The Silence of Snow

Guilt, grief and release intertwine as a woman, alone with her thoughts, tries to come to terms with the scars of a destructive relationship in an atmospheric work of slow cinema.

A woman runs across a snow-covered landscape in slow motion. In the aftermath of a suicide, grief and longing collide with memories of a relationship marked by mental illness and violence. Fragments of the past are woven into everyday routines, and a lingering presence haunts the shared home as she struggles to make sense of what has happened and find a way forward. Malin Dahl (Må du leva, GFF 2025) explores hard-to-articulate, ambivalent emotions in a contemplative and restrained drama set against a bleak and desolate winter landscape.
