A lovely Peter Mullan plays a grumpy, principled guide who goes bananas when his small Scottish town is invaded by a Game-of-Thrones-like production and its fan entourage.

Widower Kenneth works at Aberloch’s tourist center, where he gives tours dressed as Sir Douglas Weatherford, an 18th-century poet and inventor whom he proudly proclaims to be his ancestor. When filming for the popular series The White Stag of Emberfell takes over the town, starring Oscar Sorenson (Jakob Oftebro), Kenneth is close to a meltdown. Sean Dunn makes his debut with an original, wildly funny and slightly melancholy portrait of a lonely man who has poor contact with his emotions—while also taking a jab at today’s cultural superficiality, mass hysteria, and hustle culture.
