Thomas Vinterberg makes his feature film debut with a fast-paced, humorous, and heartfelt road movie about a bank-robbing dad on the run through Sweden.

Petty criminal Karsten is on furlough from prison when he learns he has a twelve-year-old daughter. Unhappy with her stepfather, she reluctantly joins Karsten as he impulsively decides to flee to Sweden, dragging his accomplice Peter along for the ride. With hilariously absurd fake identities (Helmut Kohl and Ingemar Stenmark), a loaded revolver, and an unstoppable Ford, they head north in one of the most iconic road trip comedies of the 1990s. Danish superstars Thomas Bo Larsen, Ulrich Thomsen, Paprika Steen, and Trine Dyrholm appear here in some of their earliest roles, alongside memorable Swedish supporting performances by Jonas Karlsson, Eva Röse, and Allan Svensson.
