Silent Legacy
Buy ticketsA warm portrait of a dancer trying to create a home between two worlds, where dance becomes his way of understanding identity, longing, and responsibility.
In Silent Legacy, we meet Sibiry Konate, whose life moves between the cold of Helsinki and the heat of Burkina Faso. Konate, who receives constant calls from friends and acquaintances in his village asking him for money, wants to give something back—something more than just financial support. He buys a rickety minibus meant to help the villagers in their daily lives. But reality soon throws obstacles in his way. Through choreographed dance sequences and everyday moments, the film conveys the feeling of standing in a cultural in-between space. A quiet and visually striking documentary about finding one’s place in the world.
