Sick of Myself
Buy ticketsNarcissism and body horror in a satirical and unforgettably twisted black comedy about being seen at all costs.
Signe (Kristine Kujath Thorp) and her boyfriend Thomas live in a competitive relationship and push each other to take risks – a visit to a fancy restaurant becomes a dine and dash, with an expensive bottle of champagne under the arm. When Thomas breaks through as an artist and becomes a name in Oslo’s inner circles, their relationship is disrupted and Signe is diminished by his side. However, Signe is not delusional, but soon finds a method, which over time will become increasingly self-destructive, to restore her status and win the attention and sympathy of those around her. Director Kristoffer Borgli (Drib, 2017) mixes the grotesque with large portions of humor and serves a boundless drive with our time’s insatiable hunger to be seen.
