In a forgotten fishing village, a boat that vanished at sea 30 years ago suddenly reappears, intact and without its crew. For the few who remember, it is a sign. Two inexperienced men, desperate for work, take jobs aboard when the boat sets out once more—perhaps to turn the fortunes of the long-suffering village. When they return, nothing is as it once was. The past seems to linger in the present. With his distinctive and uncompromising style, British filmmaker Mark Jenkin (Enys Men, GFF 2023) is back with an atmospheric exploration of identity and the vagaries of time.
