Daniel Craig mesmerizes as a lustful, affection-starved, and booze-soaked American queer in 1950s Mexico, in Guadagnino’s daring adaptation of Burroughs’ novel.

Göteborg Film Festival favorite and 2022 Honorary Dragon Award recipient Luca Guadagnino continues to push boundaries and embrace bold challenges. Ever since reading William S. Burroughs’ “Queer” in his youth, Guadagnino has wanted to bring it to the screen. Now, collaborating with screenwriter Justin Kuritzkes and star Daniel Craig, he transforms that vision into a vivid and intoxicating reality.

Craig embodies Burroughs’ alter ego, William Lee, whose life unravels in a haze of booze and longing as he drifts from bar to bar in Mexico. His growing obsession with Gene (Drew Starkey) fuels a reckless pursuit that leads them on a feverish journey to South America.

This is a visually dazzling, hallucinatory trip bursting with bold storytelling, intense emotions, and unapologetically unvarnished sex scenes.
