Paris Memories
Buy ticketsSurvivors of the 2015 terrorist attack in Paris process the trauma in a moving and personal drama signed by Alice Winocour (Proxima GFF 2020).
Mia (a brilliant Virginie Efira) stops at a bistro to avoid the pouring rain, but soon the familiar Parisian evening sounds are replaced by gunfire as terrorists enter the premises. Mia survives the massacre and a few months later she returns to the restaurant where she meets other survivors and together they try to piece together and come to terms with their memories. Winocour tells a deeply personal story (her brother survived the Bataclan) and does not shy away from depicting the hideous brutality of the terrorist act. Yet Remembering Paris is not a story of violence, but an intelligent drama about its consequences and a fine-tuned tribute to the camaraderie between the victims – and to life.
