Once Upon a Time in Gaza

The timid student Yahya works at a thriving falafel stand where the small-time but warm-hearted owner Osama creatively packages drugs into the tasty dishes. When his boss refuses to bow to a corrupt police officer, Yahya witnesses something both traumatizing and dangerous. Years later, when he is cast as a patriotic hero in “the first action film from Gaza,” he is forced to confront both his past and difficult moral dilemmas. Arab and Tarzan Nasser deliver comedy with deep seriousness at its core — a violent satire that never stops surprising.
