Nightmare

Rosemary’s Baby meets Inception in chilling pregnancy horror film about nightmare-ridden pregnant woman on the verge of nervous breakdown, starring a magnetic Eili Harboe (Thelma).

Shortly after Mona and Robby move into their new turn-of-the-century apartment in central Oslo, Mona begins to have increasingly horrible nightmares. She becomes convinced that a nightmare has taken possession of the fetus in her womb, and when she meets a dubious sleep paralysis doctor, the film soon escalates into an eerie mix of folk horror and psychological sci-fi. Feature-film debutant Kjersti Helen Rasmussen impresses with an unpleasantly tactile film narrative in a realistic horror story about longing for children, postpartum depression, and raw demonic violence.
