More Than Ever
Buy ticketsFrench Hélène travels to the Norwegian fjords to heal, but soon faces a life-changing decision in a beautiful, low-key drama with Vicky Krieps and Gaspard Ulliel in the leading roles.
Hélène and Mathieu are happily married and in the middle of life, but one day everything is tossed upside down when Hélène is diagnosed with a deadly disease. She leaves both her everyday life and the transplantation queue at Bordeaux and travels to Norway to meet a cancer survivor she met online. The beautiful surroundings and the new-found friendship instill spiritual peace, but soon her strong-willed husband arrives to convince her to try an advanced lung transplantation. Festival-familiar Emily Atef (The Stranger in Me, GFF 2009) does not shy away from heavy subjects in this strong drama that both praises life and affirms death. Aside from an outstanding performance by Vicky Krieps, this was the French star Gaspard Ulliel’s last role before he passed away in a skiing accident in 2022.
