Mailin, now in her thirties, was subjected to abuse for 15 years by a priest and family friend in her Argentinian village. As a means of survival, she suppressed the horrific memories for as long as she could. Through therapy, she has now begun to carefully unravel them – a long and painful process that filmmaker María Silvia Esteve has followed over several years with great respect, sensitivity, and cinematic finesse. The result is an achingly beautiful portrait of a woman’s brave and uncompromising fight for justice.
