Madame Luna is a cunning human trafficker fleeing dark secrets in Daniel Espinosa's personal mafia film about the shadowy worlds of the sunny Italian south.

After the success of Snabba Cash, Daniel Espinosa was recruited to Hollywood and has been praised for his Marvel movies and Denzel Washington thrillers. Now he returns to Sweden – and to a more personal filmmaking – with the captivating story of Madame Luna. Meninet Abraha delivers a magnetic portrait of the mysterious woman who arrives in an Italian coastal town as an Eritrean refugee, but is not like the others. Together with co-authors Maurizio Braucci (Gomorra, Martin Eden) and Suha Arraf (Lemon Tree), Espinosa has crafted a politically charged contemporary story about climbing criminal hierarchies and confronting one's past.
