The waters of Lake Geneva become the stage for a sensual, meditative voyage in a visually grand and playfully crafted adventure through storm and stillness.

A man and a woman set out onto Lake Geneva to sail. They are taking part in a race and will spend several days on the water, subject to its shifting moods. Courbet and Turner often used the lake as a motif, which has inspired first-time feature director Fabrice Aragno. The director, who worked closely with Jean-Luc Godard for many years, lets the same ever-changing landscape mirror human vulnerability in the face of life’s challenges and the grandeur of nature. Le lac is a sensory cinematic experience, an experimental tribute to art and its subjects.
