A hen’s incredible escape from the chicken factory becomes a breathtaking cinematic journey through the Southern European countryside, where the promise of freedom attracts more than just the feathered.

When the brown chicken is discarded at the factory, a window opens toward a new life. Through a series of fortunate and unbelievable coincidences, the little bird takes flight into the world with a single driving force: to lay her eggs and raise her own chicks in freedom. Her persistent struggle leads her to a Greek farm, where another fight for freedom — and a darker operation — unfolds in the background. Five different hens play the lead role in György Pálfi’s unorthodox adventure film which, through the small bird’s struggle for freedom, offers a deeper story about the darker sides of humanity.
