Faithless
Buy ticketsMagnetism arises between Frida Gustavsson, Gustav Lindh, and August Wittgenstein as Tomas Alfredson delivers a gripping series adaptation of Faithless.
Actress Marianne and jazz musician Markus are living in a loving marriage. When Markus's close friend, director David, moves back from London, it has fateful consequences for everyone, especially the couple’s daughter, Isabelle. Infidelity is a story of love, betrayal, and deception that shatters family and friendship bonds. Alfredson (Let the Right One In, GFF 2008) allows Ullmann’s/Bergman’s work to echo, but tells his own story (with a brilliant script by Sara Johnsen) in a different time, with a new tone and style, accompanied by stunning music by Hans Ek. Lena Endre returns from the original, now playing the older Marianne. The series is captivating and grand, with the complexity and tension reminiscent of Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy.
All six episodes of the series are screened, including a 45-minute intermission. Total runtime: 5 hours 15 minutes.
