In Rosefeldt’s Manifesto (GFF 2017), Cate Blanchett played 13 different roles. This time, she lends her voice to a majestic tiger looting a supermarket. Giancarlo Esposito also returns in the role of the New York cab driver we remember from Jarmusch’s Night on Earth. Drawing on the ideas and writings of Plato, Angela Davis, Karl Marx, Snoop Dogg, and many others, Euphoria tackles the seductive force of capitalism and its devastating power. The result is a sharp, thought-provoking, and majestic art-cinematic tour de force.
