Do You Love Me
Buy ticketsA playful love letter to Beirut, and a winding journey through 70 years of film, television, home videos and photographs – personal and collective memories.
Through the eyes of filmmakers, photographers, TV creators and ordinary citizens, Lana Daher crafts a deeply personal and fragmented story about Lebanon – and above all, her hometown Beirut. In the absence of a national archive, she has gathered some 2,000 eclectic media fragments from alternative sources. The result is a history marked by civil war, Israeli airstrikes, death and destruction – but also by resistance, renewal and moving forward. A remarkably creative and urgent film, and a unique testimony to the multifaceted identity of Lebanon and Beirut.
