Lina from Lima

Vibrantly colorful and playful musical to tones of homemade disco music with Andean tonalities where Lina from Lima performs as the saint Our Lady of Sorrows.

Lina works as a maid for a rich family in Chile. She prepares for the annual trip home to Peru over Christmas, by purchasing presents and making herself look nice at a beauty salon. But when she finds out that her ex-husband has just had a new child and realizes that her son has been keeping his girlfriend secret, she doubts. When the pool at the rich family’s newly built house gets destroyed, she changes her plans. But in her fantasies, Lina performs as a star in different musicals, with seductively made-up eyes and curly hair. Paz González gives us a refreshing and new take on the story about one of Latin America’s numerous maids.
