The legendary Carmen Maura sparkles as the elderly María Ángeles, who rebels when her daughter decides to sell the family home in Tangier’s vibrant Spanish quarter.

To make life work as a single mother in Madrid, María Ángeles’ daughter suddenly puts the apartment — where her mother has lived for 40 years — up for sale. But María Ángeles loves her life on Calle Málaga and hatches a secret plan involving alcohol, gambling, and buying back the furniture her daughter has sold. Along the way, she also gains an unexpected, titillating bonus.

With this film, Maryam Touzani follows up the success of The Blue Caftan with a sensual and heartwarming feel-good story that makes it clear that old age is anything but saying goodbye to stubbornness, zest for life, dreams, and fiery passion.
