Butterfly
Buy ticketsRenate Reinsve as a hard-edged performance artist in an exploratory and playful drama about two sisters reunited in the Canary Islands after their mother’s macabre death.
Sisters Lily (Renate Reinsve) and Diana (Helene Bjørneby) reluctantly return to the island where they grew up, and where their mother has died under mysterious circumstances. The sisters are opposites in almost every way, yet united in their determination to settle the estate as quickly as possible and return home. When it is revealed that their mother had been trying to establish a spiritual centre on the island, they are drawn into a chain of events with profound and unexpected consequences for them both. Butterfly introduces us to a spiritual world rich in colour, ritual and strong emotions, and captivates with a tone that is both humorous and deeply moving.
