Buy ticketsAn inventive and intimate portrait of the artist, the icon, and the human being Marianne Faithfull, with Tilda Swinton and George MacKay as guiding cicerones.
Those who have seen Pollard and Forsyth’s Nick Cave film 20,000 Days on Earth will not be surprised that their Faithfull film is yet another multilayered and distinctive reinvention of the music documentary genre. It features magical archive footage, interviews with Faithfull and other major figures, as well as beautiful cover versions by artists such as Beth Orton, Courtney Love, and Nick Cave – alongside an ambitious fictional framework built around “The Ministry of Not Forgetting,” with Swinton and MacKay holding the reins. A rich tribute to Faithfull, the film also includes her deeply moving final recorded song performance, accompanied by Nick Cave and Warren Ellis.
