Mollywood superstar Mammootty delivers a monstrous portrayal of pure evil in an ultra-aesthetic, black-and-white folk horror tale of power, caste, and India’s colonial legacy.

A wandering bard, fleeing Portuguese slave traders along the Malabar Coast, stumbles upon an ancient mansion deep in the jungle. Its enigmatic master, Kodumon Potti (Mammootty), offers him shelter—on the condition that he sings a song. But Kodumon Potti, a Dracula-like figure who shares the house with his cook, soon reveals that no one leaves his estate without permission.

Rahul Sadasivan draws on the myths and symbolism of Kerala’s rich folklore, constructing a claustrophobic demonic nightmare infused with an untamed, singular madness. A Malayalam answer to Robert Eggers’ The Lighthouse, but above all, a unique and instant folk horror classic—one that has rightfully dominated critics' lists of the year’s best horror films.
