Göteborg is celebrating 300 years in this bewildering farce set in the grandiose Jubilee Exhibition which gave us, among other things, Liseberg, the Gothenburg Museum of Art, and the Gothenburg Botanical Gardens.

The spouses Sjöborg are on the way home to Sweden to take back their daughter, Brita, who they. a few years before, were forced to leave i n the hone of a tailor family. Brita’s foster parents treat her poorly and when the girl gets to hear that her real parents are on the way, she decides to find them on her own, though she doesn’t know what they look like. Helping her is her loyal German shepherd, Napoleon, and the old perpetual student, Boman. The whole thing quickly turns into a dizzying adventure in the exhibition area, where everyone chases each other. The press at that time praised Karin Swanström’s portrayal of “all the alluring places of the famous exhibition” and how the film offered “contagious good cheer and lively humour.” The film has been digitally restored by the Swedish Film Institute and will be screened in cooperation with Cinemateket.
