Tender, colourful, and dynamic depiction of the vibrant queer scene and the complex relationship between two very different men in rough, vibrating São Paulo.

When Wellington is released from juvenile detention, no one is waiting for him. His police officer father distanced himself from him early on, and now his mother is also missing. In his attempts to get by in the brilliantly depicted São Paulo, he hooks up with various men. A fascinating relationship develops between him and the much older hustler Ronaldo, shifting between passionate lovers, father and son, (sex) worker and employer. Baby is a queer erotic drama and a raw coming-of-age story with a desire to see the good in all people. It’s also a tribute to São Paulo’s lively queer community and an uplifting guide to the art of building your own extended family.
