An Argentine cop on the run in Uruguay meets love and deals with cheese in a charming road-movie thriller-comedy, with hints of deadpan, romcom, and western.

When he learns a little too much about his colleagues’ corrupt side business, Santiago is forced to slip across the border into Uruguay. With no luggage but plenty of wit and charm, he gets help from a series of delightfully odd characters, including an eccentric cheese seller, an honest cheese manufacturer, a reluctant lawyer, and a flirtatious border-shop clerk. Star actor Daniel Hendler directs the wonderful Sergio Prina in the lead role as a man who discovers that life in between can mean freedom and possibility—if only the bad cops weren’t closing in with loaded guns.
