Multilayered and affecting about two lives intertwined by an unwanted pregnancy, in the festival favorite Paz Fábrega’s new powerful drama.

Alongside working as an architect, 40-year-old Luisa gives creative workshops for children. One day at the school’s restrooms she meets 17-year-old Yuli, who is desperately trying to end her unintentional pregnancy on her own. Yuli refuses to speak with her mother and has no other adult to rely on, so Luisa takes her to a doctor who ascertains that the pregnancy has already progressed too far. To help the girl, Luisa opens her home for her, and soon she enters an increasingly difficult balancing act between roles as Yuli’s teacher, friend, and extra mom. With close-ups that mirror the soul and enormous care for her characters, Fábrega (Viaje, GFF 2016), delivers a heartfelt and richly nuanced film about the complexities of motherhood.
