“The film tells the story of a risky fraud in the art world, and in parallel tells the story of the friendship between the characters played by Guillermo Francella and Luis Brandoni. The tone of this film wonderfully fits both of these great actors, who have given the film two memorable interpretations. The film has tension, drama, emotion, and it also has a lot of humor, it marks Francella and Brandoni’s return to comedy. Andrea Frigerio also acts in the film, we reconvened her after her outstanding role in El Ciudadano Ilustre (The Distinguished Citizen), and Raúl Arévalo, the great Spanish actor and director. In addition to the powerful and intense story linked to scams in the art world, the film reflects on the contradictions of artistic creation, and the limits of friendship. It was filmed during 8 weeks in Buenos Aires, Rio de Janeiro, and in the impressive natural scenery of Jujuy. On this occasion, Mariano Cohn (co-director of El Ciudadano Ilustre and El Hombre al Lado) took on the role of producer, designing a co-production with Mediapro from Spain that guaranteed an impressive visual display for the movie. And the screenplay by Andrés Duprat (screenwriter of El Ciudadano Ilustre and El Hombre al Lado) is extraordinary, a perfect mechanism.”
