Egil Håskjold Larsen has worked as a cinematographer and director since finishing his studies in 2008. Studying fine art photography in Turkey, and finally documentary filmmaking in Norway. In 2016 he released his first documentary film "Ad Astra". "69 Minutes of 86 Days" is his first feature length documentary film.

As consumers of information and news about the development of our world, and to a large degree of its misery, we have become blind to its atrocities. The whole picture has perhaps become too overwhelming and complex. Perhaps we push it aside because it has become too difficult to witness, but this only generates fear and selfishness. Development has created a polarised and very unjust world, which seals the fate of countless humans every single day. This reality has now moved closer to us in Europe, and we struggle to relate to it. The refugee crisis and the political power game which the entire world has generated an attitude to, has created more strife, where perhaps it should have resulted in more compassion. Humans themselves seem to hold responsibility, and in this way, we have become both the guilty party and the victim. The child stands alone as the representative of something pure and unaffected in this context. Their innocence and open mind to the world they encounter gives us hope and an indication that there is something fundamentally good in all human beings
