By focusing on the everyday chores of the Höss family adjacent to hell, The Zone of Interest becomes a razor-sharp study of the Nazis' perverted logic. Continuously and subtly, through sound, music, and clever script choices, the viewer is reminded of what is happening beyond the frame, within the walls. It is brilliant filmmaking and an intensely gripping portrayal. Winner of the Grand Prix at Cannes and shortlisted for an Academy Award nomination for Best International Film.
