The Sequel to Summer Rain
Buy ticketsA chance encounter, followed by some persuasion, prompts Kennet to revive his film career—a decision that leads to something far greater and more transformative.
In the 1990s, Kennet made waves as Jorma in the film Summer Rain. Among the colorful characters of a small underground film society, the movie has achieved near-cult status. When the club’s chairman spots Kennet in town, he can hardly believe his eyes, and the hope of a sequel suddenly feels within reach. Though the group’s creative visions prove to be rather divergent, the production offers Kennet a renewed sense of purpose—and, perhaps most importantly, the opportunity to reconnect with his sister. Festival favorite Viktor Johansson’s lyrical tribute to cinephiles is a touching and charming celebration of how a shared love of film can bring people together.
