Commuting by car is the basis of a moving friendship between colleagues in a hybrid road movie with few parallels.

Each day just after five, once the workday is over, Andrew gets in the car to drive home through Melbourne’s rush hour traffic. He always calls his sick mother in Adelaide, sometimes his wife. Accompanying him increasingly often is David, a younger colleague he has offered a ride. Listening from the backseat, we slowly but surely get to know the men, experiencing happiness and sadness as their number of trips increase and the relationship deepens. Based on his meeting with Andrew and the friendship they came to develop, David Easteal offers in his acclaimed debut a personal and at the same time universal journey on four wheels: a thought-provoking reflection on the passing of time, the problems we struggle with, and the dreams we pursue, showing how much a kind gesture can mean and what it can lead to.
