The Ordinaries
Buy ticketsClever meta-film which with a light hand and sharp satire portrays the injustices of society through a critique of the film industry system.
Paula lives in a cinematic reality with great class differences. Just like her late father, she wants to be famous and a recognized main character. It is the main characters who have the highest status in society and the only ones with their own plot, emotions and dramatic music. At the bottom of the social ladder are “The Outtakes,” those who are constantly at risk of having their efforts overlooked. As she tries to unravel her father’s fate, doubts arise about herself, her own role in the story, and who the story’s narrator really is. With a feast of lustful film references (which not infrequently linger to serve a deeper and darker purpose), this is an impressively sharp feature debut from a filmmaker we hope to see more of in the future.
